Shenzhen Health Capacity and Continuing Education Center (CHSERS)
Shenzhen City is one of the 4 most developed cities in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen). Despite the city’s amazing economic achievement, its healthcare services still can’t satisfy fast-growing needs from 20million inhabitants. Shenzhen City government has been investing a lot on building new hospitals and training personnel, it also built a big training center (CHSERS) for leading trainings in municipal hospitals, simulation in healthcare, is of course part of the training project.
In CHSERS, AMC China’s workshop topics are sim center planning, operation, management, and course developing. Just like Shenzhen, the young city of immigrants, participants and CHSERS staffs are also young and vibrant.
As the head of AMC China, I’m very happy to integrate my expertise on project management and strategic thinking into AMC China’s workshop, and the responses are surprisingly good! These topics are rarely taught in medical schools, but sim center leaders and managers need this kind of knowledge very much. During our workshop in Shenzhen, whether the participants are new or experienced in simulation teaching, everyone was happy to share and discuss with others. We had practical learning outcomes with laughter for the whole 2 days. Shenzhen is such an eye-opening experience to us!!! I also learned a lot from our participants!
